What do I need when hiring a car from Dollar Car Rental?

What are the age restrictions for a Dollar Car Rental?

Age restrictions depend on the destination country. Please see Rental Qualifications and Requirements during the booking process for information specific to the destination country. At Dollar Car Rental, we ask for your age up front so we can tell you if a young driver surcharge applies. In most cases, the driver must be at least 25 years old and hold a clean driving licence for at least 1 year prior to pickup. In most cases, if you are under 25, you will be required to pay a surcharge.

What forms of payment does Dollar Car Rental accept?

The booking must be made in the name of the main driver, who must also use their credit card to secure the car rental. The same credit card must be shown at pick-up for the deposit and guarantee.

What is Dollar Car Rental’s fuel policy?

Dollar Car Rental rates exclude fuel. Cars are provided with a full tank and must be returned with a full tank. Otherwise, a refuelling charge will apply. You can purchase fuel at the rental, but no refund is given for unused fuel. Ask about our Fuel Purchase Option (FPO) when picking up the car.

What’s the cancellation policy for a Dollar Car Rental?

For prepaid car hire bookings, you can cancel by midnight two days before your scheduled pick-up date for a full refund. If you cancel after this time but before pick-up, your refund will depend on our Cancellation Policy. If you cancel a pay-at-location reservation, you can cancel free of charge right until the day of collection with no fee or penalty incurred. However, if you fail to pick up your car without cancelling, a No Show/Lost Rental Fee will apply. You can find the amounts in the Terms and Conditions.

What if I return the Dollar Car Rental late?

You must return your vehicle as close as possible to your reserved drop-off time. Otherwise, you may be charged for an extra day's rental. Your return location may allow a limited grace period, but this is entirely at its discretion.
